Superfriends 3.5

Over the weekend was Storm of Silence 4, a major ITC tournament I was actually able to attend. I took my Superfriends 3.0 list and learned something very important.

I went 3-2, losing to ...wait for it..Eldar and Tau.  There wasn't much I could do against the Tau list but I could have beat the Eldar if I had played the aggressive CC game I should be playing.

The Wulfen only made it into close combat once out of 5 games. The other 4 they were shot of the board before they could do anything. Most of the time it took literally all of my opponents shooting to accomplish this.  The answer to this is a second unit of them!   I was thinking about dropping the Ravenwing entirely for a Librarius Conclave, but I might not need too.

So here is Superfriends 3.5:

Great Wolf Detachment:
HQ: WGBL, Runic armor, thunderwolf, SS, Fist
HQ: Rune Priest, Bike, Level 2

Elite: 5 Wulfen, 3xTH/SS 2x Frost Claws
Elite: 5 Wulfen, 3xTH/SS 2x Frost Claws

Fast: Drop Pod
Fast: Drop Pod
Fast: Thunderwolf Cav x5, 5x SS, 1x Fist

Allied Detachment:
HQ: Sanguinary Priest, Bike

Troops: Tactical squad x5, Heavy Flamer, Combi-Melta, Drop Pod

Ravenwing Strike Force:
HQ: Sammael

Fast: Black Knights x4
Fast: Black Knights x4

Only one caster does not mean I'll get what I need, but it can't hurt to try.  Having the 2nd unit of Wulfen also come down turn 1 means a lot of hurt right where I need it the most. In both the games I lost if I had the 2nd unit, I would probably have tabled my opponent.

It's also a lot less money then my 4.0 list, and I'd rather put cash into modifying my Blood Angels into an Iron Hand Medusa Strike Force.

Superfriends 4.0

Well the release of Angels of Death, and more specifically the psychic powers, has me reconsidering my list yet again.

Right now my list has a few decent threats, several fast units that can move around the table as needed. I do like how it plays even if it has not been all that successful so far.

My new idea is to instead concentrate on the Thunderwolf Star by adding a Librarious Conclave.  Sure there is invisibility but I'd rather get the +1T and/or the re-roll to saves.

This would also give me not 1 but 2 units of Wulfen in drop pods to provide additional threats.

So here is what I'm thinking about:

Great Wolf Detachment (Champions of Fenris)
HQ: Wolf Lord: Runic Armor, Fist, Wolf Claw, thunderwolf, Fellclaw's Teeth, 1x fenrisian wolf.
Dropping the SS for the extra off-handed weapon means more attacks, but taking more risks with only a 4++
HQ: Iron Priest: Thunderwolf, Cyberwolf

Elite: Wulfen. 3xTH/SS, 2x Frost Claw
Elite: Wulfen. 3xTH/SS, 2x Frost Claw
Wulfen are completely bad-ass, and having them right in your face in drop pods means you have some tough choices on shooting. Fast: Drop Pod
Fast: Drop Pod
Fast: 6x Thunderwolf Cav, 6x SS, 2x Fist
I have points for the 6th one now

Allied Detachment (Codex: Blood Angels)
HQ: Sanguinary Priest, Bike, Meltabombs

Troops: Tactical Squad, Combi-Melta, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod

Librarious Conclave (Codex: Space Marines)
Chapter Tactics: White Scars
WS tactics restores the hit & run and skilled rider to the unit that I lose by taking out the Ravenwing.

 Librarian, Level 2, bike
 Librarian, Level 2, bike
 Librarian, Level 2, bike

This is a lot closer to the "netlists" out there, but you know people play those lists for a reason lol. That gives me a unit of 8 thunderwolves, 2 wolves for extra wounds and 4 bikes. Then both units of Wulen drop turn one so perhaps the death star may not take as much shooting .

Now I just need the cash...I would need a box of thunderwolves, wulfen, drop pod, iron priest, wolves, and a box of SM bikes.  Ouch.

Showcase: Space Wolves Wulfen

They are finally all done.  Such a pain to paint, not tedious like other stuff, just annoying.

If there is a next time they will be done with the backpacks and heads separate, and maybe the arms too.

Anyway all painted, based, including all the magnetized bits.

These guys are still completely bad-ass in game, that's for sure. Just being able to attack even if slain at a higher initiative makes the TH/SS almost a no-brainer.  But then the Frost Claws are just insane as well.

I've now completed the big projects I had to do before Storm of Silence.

What's next?  Not sure. I broke out my Helldrake so it can go along with the Air Armada. No hurry though.

Showcase: Wolf Scouts

On March 19th I made a video saying how much stuff I had to paint on a deadline

So far, I've just about finished.  Ya, surprised me too!

I have finished the Wolf Scouts and made good progress of the Wulfen. I have to say I hate painting these guys already assembled.  If there is a next time they will be done in pieces, for sure.

Not very exciting models, that's for sure.  Used the scout heads from the Space Wolves box and the usual battle damage, plus the bases were recycled from re-basing some of my Blood Angels.  They were done in a day.  No complaints!

Anyway quick update, much more painting to do!

Superfriends 3.0

I'm finding the more targets I present the better my list does. In that flavor, I've come up with a great way to add an equally deadly yet super aggressive unit to my list. And make the Thunderwolves even better!

Great Wolf Detachment:
HQ: WGBL, Runic armor, thunderwolf, SS, Fist

Elite: 5 Wolf Scouts
Elite: 5 Wulfen, 3xTH/SS 2x Frost Claws

Fast: Drop Pod
Fast: Thunderwolf Cav x5, 5x SS, 1x Fist

Allied Detachment:
HQ: Sanguinary Priest, Bike

Troops: Tactical squad x5, Heavy Flamer, Combi-Melta, Drop Pod

Ravenwing Strike Force:
HQ: Sammael

Fast: Black Knights x5, meltabombs
Fast: Black Knights x5, meltabombs

Elite: Ravenwing Command Squad, Apothecary

So the Wulfen go in the drop pod and come in turn 1.  That gives my opponent a serious problem: Shoot the Wulfen or the Thunderwolves.  Since the Iron Priest got moved to HQ, the scouts become a 70 point tax to give the Thunderwolves WS5 - totally worth it!  I can move the WGBL to the Command squad if I need to hit multiple units in CC, and he'll still get FNP.

Wulfen are completely bad-ass. For the points they really present a serious threat.

I've got the models now and I have a lot of work to do before Storm of Silence 4!

Developing the Thunder star

So I'm having a lot of issues playing my Thunderstar list.  I call it a "superfriends" list even though it really does not follow the common formula for superfriends.

I am really thinking about dropping the Dark Angels and going with a librarian conclave.  I know it's everywhere but there's a reason for it.

The point of this army is to be competitive in ITC tournaments.

It really is all about invisibility, and endurance when needed.

I've also though about going with some drop Skitarri for a massive alpha strike. I want to get into admec in general, so that's a good place to start.

Anyway I'm sure I'll make a video too, but just rambling for now.

Making the Dante-Thunderwolf deathstar even better..

After the few games I played with my Thunderwolf/Dante deathstar I found several flaws, the most glaring of which is the lack of firepower..not everything can be killed in close combat.

I think I found the best solution..and it even makes the deathstar better!

Building for ITC rules, btw.

CAD: Blood Angels
HQ: Sanguinary Priest, bike, auspex, meltabombs
HQ: Librarian, Lvl2, bike

Troops: 5x Tactical, heavy flamer, combi-melta, drop pod
Troops: 5x Tactical, heavy flamer, combi-plasma, drop pod

LoW: Dante

Allied Detachment: Space Wolves
HQ: Wolf Guard Battle Leader, runic armor, thunderwolf, storm shield. fist

Troop: 5x Grey Hunters, melta, drop pod

Fast: 5x Thunderwolves, 5x Storm shields, 1x power fist

Ravenwing Strike Force (Dark Angels)
HQ: Sammael

Fast: 5x Black Knights
Fast: 5x Black Knights

1850 exactly.

I had to neuter  the infantry units to get it to fit, but really that does not hurt me that much..as they aren't that good to start with.  The best part is the ObSec drop pods to sit on objectives.  I also had to drop the Wolf Lord to a WGBL.

But adding in the 10 Black Knights gives me a ton of plasma firepower, and they are just overall pretty darn awesome..with skilled rider and Ravenwing they can re-roll jink saves allowing them to stick around for quite a while.  Even in close combat they are not bad, with S5 rending hammers.

Especially with the wolves coming right at you.

Sammael was almost an afterthought..but then I actually read his rules!  By adding him to the deathstar and making him warlord the whole unit is just that much more beastly.  First, he's fearless which is something the rest of the unit lacks.

Second, his warlord trait is rapid maneuvers.   That adds 3" to any run or charge move.  HOLY SHIT!!  That totally counters the loss of fleet by having a mixed unit and gives them an incredible threat range. To top it off he's EW for those S10 shots.

So now I think I'm off to ebay to pick up some Dark Vengeance bikes...

Showcase: Space Wolves drop pod

Acquired in a trade with the doors already glued shut, I had originally intended on having this a Blood Angels drop pod, but doing it up for my Grey Hunters just made more sense.

I also used it as an opportunity to try out some new techniques: dry brushing flat armor panels and oil paint streaking.  The former was more successful then the latter, but still came out pretty darn good.

Anyway a couple pics and I'm off!

I like to play fast assault armies. Blood Angels/Space Wolves at 2k

Going into the final week of an escalation month (next month is all ITC 1850) I have built the final version of my BA/SW Deathstar list.

What can I say? I find that if you are going to play assault, what you need is SPEED.  That is where the Ork bike list is at it's best...run forward and then punch  you in the face.

In order to do that with something else I needed a fast, hard-hitting unit. There simply are not many of them, but in this case I found that Thunderwolves do the trick.

But you can't get FNP from the Space Wolf codex.

In comes Blood Angels.

I've shown my Sanguinary Priest and Librarian on bikes.  Dante is a LoW but is absolutely worth every bit of it..he's a pure beast.  If I can get The Quickening off he is potentially I9 with 9 attacks on the charge at S7/AP2. what?

I add in a liberal use of Drop Pods to make sure I can get objectives and/or get some decent shooting where I need it and away we go!

So here it is:

Primary: Combined Arms.

HQ: Sanguinary Priest (91).  Bike, Auspex, Bolt Pistol, Meltabombs
HQ: Librarian (110): Bike, level 2

Troop: 10 Tactical Marines (205)
Melta, combi-melta, heavy flamer, drop pod

Troop: 10 Tactical Marines (210)
Plasma, combi-plasma,heavy flamer, drop pod

Elite: 5 Sternguard (185)
3x Combi-flamer, heavy flamer, drop pod

Fast: 4 Bikes (124)
Combi-Grav, 2x Grav gun

Fast: RAS (100)
Meltagun, meltabombs

LoW: Dante (220)

Allied Detachment
HQ: Wolf Lord (215)
Thunderwolf mount, runic armor, storm shield, power fist

Troops 10 Grey Hunters (215)
2x meltagun, ccw, drop pod

Fast: 5 Thunderwolves (325)
5x Storm Shield, 2x Power Fist.

That's 4 drop pods, 3 with ObSec, and the Deathstar running at you full speed.  3++/5+ FNP!
I was originally going to do flyers (like 2 stormravens and 1 stormwolf) but that got way to expensive.

I might still try to do that list, but I'll have to wait until I can afford a SW flyer.

More Thunderwolves!

Got the final varnish on the Thunderwolves today, while working on my Librarian.  Two of the guys have magnetized arms for power fists and chainswords. I did want a frost axe but all the axe bits are for the other arm. So when/if I get a 6th model I'll magnetize the right arm instead.

And a group shot!  Now lets see if I can actually win a game with them lol!

Still plodding along with the Librarian. If I get him done enough I might just play him tomorrow.

Showcase: Thunderwolves

I've had these done for a while except the final varnish, which I was finally able to pick up today. All done now!

Combine these guys with Dante and the Priest on a bike for the potential of a decent deathstar.  I've also built a Librarian on a bike that could go with them as well.

Also finished up all the Space Wolf re-basing.  Not sure what's next.

Space Wolf Long Fangs Complete!

Finished up my latest project, a unit of missile launcher long fangs.

ya, ya, they are soooo 5th edition..right?  Maybe. I've used them, they are pretty cheap and if you add in perfect timing or prescience then they can become quite effective.

I think I got the Space Wolves Grey a bit too heavy on these guys compared to my Grey Hunters. They are more like the Rune Priest.  It could also be just that they are mostly regular marine models so they have a lot less detail on them.

Anyway pics.

What's next is another 7 biker Imperial Fist commission I need to finish by next Wednesday.

Tournament list - Farsight Enclaves and Space Wolves - 1850pts

I have not been posting much lately, as all my time is taken up with commissions and job searches.  I will be posting pics of 7 more Nurgle bikes in the next few days, all that's left on them is basing.

But anyway, I'm here to discuss the latest incarnation of my Tau and Space Wolves army list made for a tournament next month, The Guardian Cup.

Here is the list:

Primary Detachment: Codex: Farsight Enclaves
HQ: Ethereal

Troop: 3x XV8 Crisis Suits.  6x Burst cannon, 3x Early Warning, 3x Bonding Knife Ritual, 3x Marker Drone
Troop: 3x XV8 Crisis Suits, 6x Plasma Gun, 2x Early Warning, 1x Vectored Retro-Thruster, 3x BKR, 3x Marker Drone
Troop: 3x XV8 Crisis Suits, 6x Missile Pod, 3x Early Warning, 3x BKR

Fast: 6x Pathfinder, Shas'ui, 6x BKR

Heavy: 2x XV88 Broadsides, 2x HYMP, 2x Velocity Tracker, 2x BKR
Heavy: 3x XV88 Broadsides, 2x HYMP, 2x Early Warning, 2x BKR

Allied Detachment: Codex: Space Wolves
HQ: Rune Priest, Runic armor (JoWW, Living Lightning)
HQ: Wolf Lord, Thunderwolf mount, Saga of the Warrior Born, Wolf Tooth Talisman, Storm Shield, Power Fist, Runic Armor

Troop: 10x Grey Hunter, 2x Meltagun

Fast: 2x Thunderwolf Cavalry, 2x Storm Shield

Heavy: 6x Long Fangs, 5x Missile Launcher

I've played 3 games so far with this list, and I have to say I'm pretty darn happy with it.  The only thing is two of those games have had a Land Raider in it, and I really don't have a lot to deal with that in this list, but I don't want to add in Fusion Blasters anywhere either..so I guess I'll have to live with the Thunderwolf Lord and the two meltaguns.

Probably the first thing that sticks out is the Ethereal.  He really is the lynchpin of the Tau, as the bubble of LD10 and whatever element I use are almost required to make the detachment effective.  Zephyr's Grace is probably the most powerful of the 4, basically giving the Tau the equivalent of Battle Focus. Sure they are snapshots but with markerlights..who cares.  Plus being able to move, run, shoot and then jet pack means the suits are fast and still effective!  However this means I'm also much more hesitant to deep strike the crisis suits..after all they are my scoring units.  And if I keep everything together I have a better chance at a decent amount of supporting fire should something get close.

The Thunderwolves are great fun, for sure.  I always send them strait into the thick of things, as they are a great disruption unit. As one of my opponents said, he had to turn his whole army to deal with 3 models..and that really isn't an exaggeration.  If there is a piece of LoS blocking terrain in the middle, even better as they can hide the first turn and then run up right into my opponent's backfield.  The Wolf Lord isn't afraid of anything..swarmlord, wraithknights, blood thirster, etc, etc. Challenge? Sure go for it. The only time he has really failed is when going toe-to-toe with Abbadon.  After rolling a 1 with the demon weapon he still got 2 wounds..with two wounds left.  Roll stormshield saves...a pair of 2's. Great.  Well Abby was then out in the open and sucked 12 BS6 plasma gun shots the next turn..hehe.

For the Rune Priest, I keep thinking about taking Njal instead. The primary purpose of the Priest is of course, the runic weapon.  The 4+ no you don't get Iron Arm is absolutely fantastic against Demons (especially FMC's) and Njal is only better at doing that. Plus the extra storm table thing is just icing on the cake. But at 130 points more it's hard to make room.

Since my army likes to keep things at a distance, I've decided to discourage the deep striking and outflanking that could really ruin my day with a whole crapton of interceptor.  One game, 5 Chaos Terminators deep struck right in my backfield, only to perish before getting a single shot off after two broadsides and 24 burst cannon shots.  Just having the interceptor can alter the way an opponent plays..especially flyers. Sure I don't have skyfire on the interceptor but I can put out enough shots to knock down most flyers..and even more so if I roll Echos of the Grandmaster on the warlord table and take Tank Hunter.

The biggest problem with the list is it is only medium range, with most of my shooting 36", and the most powerful shooting only 18-24".  Zephyr can mitigate that some, and I have the marker drones on the short range suits so they can at least do something if their guns are out of range. Plus having the drones means that grav guns wound those units on 4+ instead of 3+..hey it's something.  I found this especially problematic with the Hammer and Anvil deployment.  In the future I will need to be more aggressive with deployment and consider deep striking suits in that situation.

Right now, deployment is my weakest link in playing the list..making sure my bubble is effective, dealing with reserves and mostly having better anticipation of ranges.

So that just about closes out my thoughts on the list.  I have 1 battle report with the list up, and another ready for editing. Comments welcome as always.

First Farsight Enclaves list

TSHFT Portland is early next month. I probably won't be able to play because it costs $75, but I will see if I can help people practice.

So today I made a quick list using Farsight Enclaves and Space Wolves.  I really like the Wolves as allies both for the punch of the Thunderwolf Cav and the Rune Priest..which is currently totally broken as far as psychic powers go.

So here is the list, which I would probably play if I was going. It's a bit low on the model count and I'm sure would have some bad matchups but it puts out a lot of fire power.  Not much to deal with Land Raiders though..

Primary Detachment Codex: Farsight Enclaves

HQ (50): Ethereal

Troop (180): 3x XV8 Crisis Team; 6x Burst cannon, 3x Early warning override, 3x Bonding Knife Ritual, 3x Marker Drone
Troop (180): 3x XV8 Crisis Team; 6x Burst cannon, 3x Early warning override, 3x Bonding Knife Ritual, 3x Marker Drone
Troop (174): 3x XV8 Crisis Team; 6x Missile Pod, 3x Early warning override, 3x Bonding Knife Ritual

Fast (82): 6x Pathfinder; Shas'ui, 6x Bonding Knife Ritual

Heavy (243): 3x XV88 Broadside; 3x Hi-yield Missile Pods, 2x Velocity Tracker, 1x Target lock, 3x Bonding Knife Ritual

Allied Detachment Codex: Space Wolves
HQ (120): Rune Priest; Runic armor, Jaws of the World Wolf, Living Lightning
HQ (265): Wolf Lord; Thunderwolf Mount, Power Fist, Storm Shield, Saga of the Bear, Wolf Tail Talisman

Troop (155): 10x Grey Hunter; 2x Meltagun

Fast (160): 2x Thunderwolf Calvary; 2x Storm Shield

Heavy (140): 6x Long Fangs; 5x Missile Launcher

1749 Pts

I got in a practice game, where it was Emperor's Will primary and The Scouring secondary, against Chaos Demons with Fateweaver, a couple Demon Princes and the Pink Star.  We tied on primary and I easily won secondary with 3 objectives, and all 3 bonus points.  In the TSHFT that would have probably been a 13-7 win for my side. It was a pretty good game, including: having the warpstorm table turn my rune priest into a harold, Broadsides opening on a flying prince at BS7 and eliminating 26 of 28 demonettes in a single turn (6 burst cannon suits are INSANE btw).

so that's it, comment if you wish. I like the list but I think it could use some tuning..

Building allied detachments.

Ever since 6th hit, I've thought one of the best ideas in there is allies. I *love* allies.  It just adds so much variety to what you see on the table.   This is, to me, a win-win for everyone involved. Gamers get access to more units.  Modelers get more opportunities for painting and conversions. And GW sells more stuff.

Back in January 2012 I started to build a Space Wolf army..razorback spam. Then 6th hit and that changed completely. I just sat on the models for a long time.  I finally finished building and started painting the models, I have a full 1000pts of them.  I plan on running them as allies for my Tau.

I am also thinking about other allies. Mainly, CSM for my Orks.  I have a pretty good idea of the models I want ...flying demon prince with back mace, noise marines and a helldrake.. but the hard part is what I want to do with the modeling.

Specifically, if I should just build a regular CSM force or do something more interesting. Basically I'm thinking of building some Orks as chaos marines. An Ork with CSM shoulder pads, backpack and bolter. All done in Slanneshy pink!  The demon prince? How about a Ghaz model with wings?  Noise marines? Goff rockers, obviously.  Helldrake? Ork riding a dragon.

I also have a couple boxes of eldar models (Farseer, bikes) that I might either trade or use for Tau allies..sigh.

When thinking about an allied force, especially when you have multiple main armies, is which army are you building it for?  The main problem that I'm trying to figure out is basing. All 3 of my main armies are based differently, so trying to use a single allied force for more then one is hard. I would like to use my Blood Angels as allies for my Space Wolves as well...plus using my BA as codex marines for the Tau (which I've done).

So much to choose from, so many options. So many ideas! It kinda makes me in a hobby lock as I can't decide what to do, how to do it and if I do it wrong I'm stuck with models I don't like.

But next up is a commission I need to hit pretty hard (still recovering from OFCC) while I think about it.

Time to stop the hobby ADD: More Grey Hunters complete. And more comments on hobby progress.

Last couple of days I've been working on the next 5 Grey Hunters.  I really, really like how these guys are coming out.  Doing them with paint chips and dirt is really going in a new direction for me, as my Blood Angels are pristine.

I am doing them in the swamp basing of my Tau, but only better..again, several years of hobby practice will do that. Not only do I have better skills, but simply better ideas. More exposure to models, bases, and generally seeing more stuff gives you more data to pull ideas from and/or copy. Nothing wrong with copying ideas you see online.  My snow angel night goblin was something I saw online somewhere, but that's no reason not to do it.

So one of the guys I put in a small stream of swampy water, based off the way I did water on my big swamp terrain piece which is green and orange under some gloss varnish. Money has never been there for real water effects, but I really want some soon.

Anyway next project is a Dark Angels Rhino for the Freebootaz radio Toys for Tots charity army.

And a group pic with all my complete Space Wolf models so far.

First Grey Hunters complete!

Finished the 5 Grey Hunters I've been working on lately. I used a base of The Fang which gave me much more dramatic differences between the shadows and highlights I missed on the Rune Priest (which used a base of Space Wolves Grey).

I've decided to make each Grey Hunter's right shoulderpad different instead of trying to make each squad different. That way I don't have to worry about what models go where. The colors for the shoulders came strait from the Space Wolf codex.

The basing is the same as my Tau army as the Space Wolf detachment is mainly designed to be an ally for them. Unlike my Blood Angels I'm doing chipped paint and pigments to make these guys much more battle worn.

Being lead by a Rune Priest

I'm extremely happy with the way these guys are coming out, especially since they are really the first guys I've painted fully assembled, so I learned quite a bit.

Again, this was done mostly with drybrushing on the armor, gold and fur.  It's quick enough yet looks more then good enough for me.

Drybrushing: not to be overlooked.

Once again, going against conventional wisdom will usually give you better results then following blindly.

"They" will tell you that dry brushing is for beginners, and "real" painters will always blend.

Sure, if you don't mind taking 18 months to paint your army.

Getting a good blend and highlight can be done with drybrushing, plus it is super quick and easy.  To do it right, however, does take practice and patience.  Once you master it, though, the results are great.

I've decided NOT to spend forever blending and/or highlighting my Space Wolves. I've decided to go the drybrush route. I've never really done much of it, pretty much only for terrain, bases and the occasional slugga.

Getting shadows and highlights with drybrushing requires similar approach as blending, getting the high areas or even using zenith highlighting.  This is all stuff I'm working on, but since I've only done 2 guys so far I'm still very happy with the results I've had.

The other trick to effective drybrushing is masking.  Here are some picks of me doing the chest and belt buckle gold on my first Grey Hunter:

Here is the masking. I based the gold areas with Balthasar Gold and then washed withNuln Oil. Masking tape is Tamia tape and poster tack takes care of the details.  The masking took less then 5 minutes.

And after the drybrushing is complete. Started with a drybrush of Balthasar Gold, followed by Auric Armor Gold, followed by Golden Griffon (the dry paint).  I washed with sepia, then re-highlighted with Golden Griffon.

Here he is once the masking is removed.  Perfect job, good depth and highlights. Maybe too much Golden Griffon, but still very happy with it.

I should note this was the first time I've tried the GW dry paints..and omg they are awesome.   So much pigment that controlling it is a bit difficult but what I've tried so far (the metallics) are just fantastic.

So that's it for now.  More Space Wolves to come, as well as my OFCC display board.

First completed Space Wolf - Rune Priest

First completed Space Wolf model, a Rune Priest.

The majority of this model is drybrushed, and with some practice I should be able to get better shadows on the armor then I got with this one. I really didn't want to blend up the highlights since they are allies to my Tau, and the Tau has none of that (though I should go back and do line highlights).

I am going to build 3 thunderwolves (1 being a lord), a bunch of grey hunters and a unit of 5x missile long fangs.

Enjoy!
